^Lot 5145 STARR ARMS CO. PERCUSSION SADDLE RING CARBINE.

Cal. 54. S# 15820. These carbines were produced in Yonkers, NY from 1862-65. It is fitted with the matching SN 21" bbl. with "STARR ARMS CO YONKERS, N.Y." bbl address. The bbl is held in place with a single brass bbl band and has a dovetailed large replacement blade front sight and flip up carbine rear sight. Lock is marked "STARR ARMS CO / YONKERS. N.Y." and the patent marking is found on the top tang. There are sub inspector markings on the left side of the bbl. The 2 piece walnut stock set has no visible inspection markings with a brass buttplate. CONDITION: overall good. The bbl has a mottled grey/brown patina with good markings. The frame has traces of thin blue with good markings. The stock set has been lightly sanded and refinished. Forearm has some edge chips and a small crack at each end. The butt is good with some dents and scattered light dings. Shiny bore with some rifling wear and patches of pitting. (01-29050/ZAL). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
